The team at Relentless Pursuit of Perfection Ltd. (rp²) have been facilitating planning and performance workshops since 2001.
As many of you will be aware, our principal (Dave Taylor) has been working in rig management teams since the mid-’80s. To date, we’ve facilitated over 420 workshops in 55 countries, for 220 wells teams; land rigs (including heli-rigs), swamp-barges, offshore (platforms, jack-ups, semi-subs, drill-ships).
2018 was one of the busiest years we’ve ever had, with some very interesting frontier exploration wells, challenging development well hole sections and difficult well abandonments.
Our most popular workshops are WOPs (Drill, Complete, Test the Well on Paper), Risk Assessments and HAZOPS (including MPD, SIMOPS). These technical workshops are highly collaborative and we get everyone involved in perfecting things, driving out risk and waste, whilst identifying efficiency gains.
The planning stage is extremely important, that’s why most companies have a Well Planning Process. But the execution is equally important.
Our wellsite and office coaching service has produced worthwhile outcomes for clients in the North Sea and SE Asia.

We can provide these services globally and are capable of handling technically challenging projects. We realise that it’s often on difficult jobs, that help is most needed. We can help with ultra-deepwater, HPHT, extended reach, multilateral, environmentally sensitive areas, and remote locations.
This year (2018) we facilitated a DWOP for coring an active plate boundary at 7200m below sea-level; this gives us great insights into things like geo-mechanics and holes-cleaning. We also provided a full MPD-support service for a client in Europe, and a review of a rig and it’s personnel for a client in Africa. In the past, we have conducted operational and safety assessments.
